He/Him

Bitten by the acting bug at age 12, when he was cast in a production of Hone Kouka's masterpiece Nga Tangata Toa (The Warrior people). He is also an alumnus and graduate of the renowned South Seas Film and Television School, where he studied on-screen acting.

Nepia is part of the Rotorua Kapa Haka group Te Pikikotuku o Rongomai, and he believes his time performing gave him the skills of voice projection and the confidence required to perform to a live audience- essential tools in any successful thespian's repertoire.

While Ahikaaroa and social media have kept him in the public consciousness, Nepia is also adept as a stage actor, starting in 2014 with the play Ngunguru I te ao, I te po Nepia. He found time to return to the stage in te Reo M?ori production, 2018's He Kura E Huna Ana.

In an interview with the Rotorua Daily Post, Nepia said he weaves M?ori culture with his creative passions and promotes the use and acceptance of te Reo. "I just hope that we can all come together and there's a deeper understanding towards things M?ori, towards the indigenous people and that there's more awareness of the history."

Uniquely, Nepia, and his siblings, spoke te Reo from birth, and now he uses his huge social media presence as a platform to tohatoha the word.

After cutting his teeth in short films like Huhu (in which he is credited as a writer) Blindside, and Gone Tomorrow. The 2022 film Muru, which dramatises the events of the 2007 Uruwera Raids and stars M?ori acting royalty Cliff Curtis, propelled Nepia onto the silver screen as a character named Pana.

Blending a remarkable social media presence with skills as an actor, writer, performer and teacher, he will work your branding like no-one else in a very cool,  unique way and makes for an entertaining and welcoming speaker at any event.

Nepia is an exceptional talent who is well on his way to establishing his place in Aotearoa's performing arts shopfront.
