She / Her
Brianna Linkhorn is the kind of actor I would want a casting director to keep an eye on. She has a rare mix of discipline, openness and physical intelligence, which gives her work a strong sense of detail before she has even spoken a line.
Based in Auckland, Brianna trained at Unitec with a Bachelor of Performance and Screen Acting, and has continued to build her craft through screen acting, audition, clowning, accent and scene study training with tutors including Elena Stejko, Mike Dwyer, Linda Cartwright, Jacque Drew, Fraser Hooper, Sarah Wiseman and Craig Hall. Her screen credits include the short films Killertrap and Death at a Party, both directed by Will Wallace, while her theatre work includes Our Country’s Good, Safety In Numbers, Stories Told To Me By Girls, The Wasp, A Doll’s House and Is This All You Had in Mind?
What stands out with Brianna is her physical range. She has trained in dance for more than 22 years across ballet, contemporary, jazz and musical theatre, and that history shows in the way she understands space, rhythm, stillness and movement. She can hold herself with classical control, but she also has the looseness and responsiveness needed for screen work. That combination makes her highly useful for roles where the emotional life is sitting under the surface, or where the character needs to communicate as much through body and presence as through dialogue.
Brianna also works with Glass Ceiling Arts Collective alongside John Davies, contributing to a creative environment built around access, inclusion and meaningful pathways into the performing arts. That work speaks to her generosity as an artist and her understanding of ensemble, trust and the power of making space for different voices in the room.
Alongside her acting and dance background, Brianna is currently training in singing with Stuart Clarke, adding further strength to her musical theatre skill set. She brings a lovely mix of technical training, warmth, curiosity and work ethic, and feels especially suited to casting that needs intelligence, vulnerability, physical confidence and a performer who will come into the room prepared, present and ready to work.
