He / Him
Solomon Gray is an Auckland-based screen and stage actor with a growing body of work across television, streaming and musical theatre. On screen he appears in Spartacus: House of Ashur for Lionsgate Television and Starz Originals, plays Tim Thornton on iconic New Zealand series Shortland Street, and features as a dancer in Disney’s Zombies 4.
Originally from Palmerston North, Solomon cut his teeth in community and youth musical theatre, including seasons with Abbey Musical Theatre on productions such as Hair and Cats. In 2026 he joins the ensemble of the pop musical & Juliet for its New Zealand premiere season, produced by G&T Productions and presented by Auckland Live.
Solomon continues to invest in his craft through ongoing screen training with Elena Stejko at Actors Studio, alongside workshops and masterclasses with tutors Juliet Furness and Les Chantery, building on earlier training with the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy and intensive screen work with Liz Mullane and Rachel Bullock. A baritone–tenor with jazz dance skills and a strong accent range including American (standard and Southern), French, South African and London English, he brings a grounded, flexible presence to both drama and genre projects.
