Mia Phillips is an emerging Māori actor based in Tāmaki Makaurau, grounded in a strong sense of identity and cultural connection. She affiliates to Ngāpuhi, with whakapapa to Te Rāwhiti and Te Mahurehure, and carries her connection to Rākaumangamanga and Ipipiri with pride.
At the beginning of her screen journey, Mia is actively building her craft and working towards a career in the industry. Her foundation in te ao Māori informs her perspective as a performer, bringing authenticity, depth and a strong sense of self to her work.
She represents a new generation of storytellers coming through in Aotearoa, with a clear commitment to growth and development. With a grounded presence and a willingness to learn, Mia is focused on creating opportunities and stepping confidently into the screen space.
