Nepia Takuira-Mita is an actor, presenter, MC and content creator whose humour, warmth and natural ability to connect have made him a much loved presence across Aotearoa’s screens and social platforms. In 2025, he was named a finalist for Screen Personality of the Year at the New Zealand Screen Awards, recognising the growing audience he has built through television, live performance and digital content.
Nepia is widely known for playing Hemi in the bilingual drama Ahikāroa, a role he held from 2018 to 2025. He joined the core cast of Shortland Street as nurse Mana Te Manawanui in 2025, introducing him to an even broader national audience. His screen credits also include the feature film Muru, comedy series Oh Nah and stage productions with Taki Rua and Te Rākau.
Te reo Māori is Nepia’s first language, and his work is grounded in a strong connection to te ao Māori. As the presenter of Te Reo Rangatira, he explored language revitalisation and the personal experiences of those learning and reclaiming te reo. He brings this same confidence and cultural understanding to presenting, speaking and commercial partnerships, making him particularly well suited to kaupapa involving identity, inclusion, rangatahi and Māori storytelling.
Online, Nepia is one half of Come Vibe With Us alongside fellow actor Harrison Keefe. What began as two friends dancing together in a garage has grown into a hugely popular content series built around music, friendship and pure joy. Their relaxed, unchoreographed videos have attracted an international audience and created opportunities with music, entertainment and lifestyle brands.
Nepia has created and fronted campaigns for brands including BNZ, Trade Me Property, Universal Music, Disney and GWM New Zealand. He has also performed alongside Keith Urban in Australia and is equally comfortable in front of a camera, hosting a live event, interviewing guests or bringing energy to a public activation.
Funny, generous and completely himself, Nepia has a rare ability to make audiences feel included. He offers brands and producers a highly recognisable talent with genuine cultural credibility, broad audience appeal and the versatility to deliver across screen, social content, live events and long term partnerships.
