He / Him

A finalist for Screen Personality of the Year at the 2025 New Zealand Screen Awards, Nepia Takuira-Mita is the kind of MC and live performer who makes an event feel tighter, smoother, and genuinely well-run.

He was core cast on Shortland Street as Mana Te Manawanui and is widely recognised for his long-running role as Hemi on the bilingual drama Ahikāroa.

Nepia brings pace, polish, and warmth, with a knack for reading the room and keeping the energy exactly where it needs to be, whether that’s a formal programme, a panel, a live Q and A, or a big public-facing moment.

He’s also a strong cultural speaker. Te reo Māori is his first language and he fronted Te Reo Rangatira, a series focused on reo revitalisation and the lived experience of learning te reo Māori. That makes him a natural fit for events centred on identity, inclusion, rangatahi, and kaupapa Māori storytelling.

Over the last 24 months, he has fronted and created content for major brands and campaigns, including Trade Me Property, BNZ, Universal Music, Disney and GWM New Zealand.

Alongside hosting and speaking, Nepia brings a fun, high-energy edge to public events and brand activations through Come Vibe With Us, the viral dance-content project he’s built with fellow actor Harrison Keefe.
