Gerry Edwards

Gerry Edwards is a New Zealand broadcaster, presenter, content creator and media entrepreneur who knows how to entertain an audience, think on his feet and have a good laugh along the way. His career spans international radio, television and digital content, with a background in live broadcasting that makes him a natural fit for MC work, entertainment hosting and live events.

Gerry is part of The Breeze Auckland breakfast team alongside Robert Rakete and Jeanette Thomas, where his quick wit, dry humour and willingness to get amongst the madness have made him a familiar personality on air. He's certainly not afraid to be the butt of the joke. From having his chest waxed while hooked up to a labour pain simulator to running around with a backpack full of cream in an attempt to make butter, Gerry has thrown himself into the kind of radio antics that make great entertainment. The team's work earned a finalist placing at the 2026 New Zealand Radio and Podcast Awards.

That same playful confidence translates naturally to hosting live performances, corporate functions, entertainment events and brand activations. Gerry knows how to read a room, bring energy to an audience and keep things moving without making the occasion all about him. Behind the humour is a serious broadcasting career. Gerry began in New Zealand radio with MediaWorks before moving into radio management, programming and production in the UK. As the founder of Podcast Radio, launched in 2020, he developed an international broadcasting business that has partnered with organisations including Radio New Zealand, Corus Entertainment and Evergreen Podcasts, with expansion into the United States and coverage in Forbes.

Having worked both in front of the microphone and behind the scenes, Gerry understands what makes a live production successful. His experience across presenting, interviewing, content development, commercial partnerships and technical production gives him the ability to connect with audiences while keeping the bigger picture in mind.
