Niki Bezzant: Workplace & Conference Speaker on Women’s Health, Menopause and Wellbeing

Back to journal

Niki Bezzant has spent more than 20 years making complex health and science information easier to understand, and that ability translates naturally to the workplace and conference stage. As a New Zealand health writer, journalist, author, broadcaster and professional speaker, Niki brings evidence, warmth and humour to conversations that can otherwise feel difficult, awkward or overly clinical.

For organisations, those conversations matter. Menopause, perimenopause, mental health, nutrition, sleep, healthy ageing and long-term wellbeing all affect real people at work. Niki helps audiences understand what is happening, why it matters and what practical support can look like, without turning the discussion into medical jargon or a one-size-fits-all wellness lecture.

Her experience spans areas audiences and event organisers often search under: Nutrition, Lifestyle & Wellbeing, Business, Keynote Speakers, Media Personality Speakers, Mental Health, and Diversity & Inclusion. That combination makes her particularly relevant for corporate events, leadership programmes, conferences, wellbeing initiatives and organisations wanting to have smarter conversations about women’s health.

Niki’s workplace sessions can be tailored to the organisation and delivered as an in-person keynote, workplace talk, workshop or live online webinar. Interactive questions can be included, while organisations can choose a single introductory session or build an ongoing education programme.

Programmes and Sessions

This Challenges Everything
Niki’s flagship menopause session introduces perimenopause and menopause for people of all genders and ages. It covers common symptoms, changes in the body and brain, current evidence on hormone therapy, myths and misinformation, long-term health and practical ways to create a menopause-friendly workplace.

Menopause in Depth
This follow-on or standalone session is designed for organisations ready to go further. Niki explores emerging research, hormones and testing, mental health, body composition, fatigue, non-hormonal treatments, and brain, heart, gut and bone health.

Menopause for Managers
A practical session focused on building manager confidence and understanding. It helps leaders recognise the workplace impact of menopause, open respectful conversations, respond appropriately and contribute to a culture where employees can access support without stigma.

Women’s Health Essentials
This one-hour session looks at what women can do now for a healthier future. Niki covers practical approaches to food, movement, sleep and mental, physical and emotional wellbeing, with a focus on brain, heart and gut health, body composition and time for audience questions.

Positive Aging
A forward-looking keynote or workshop on hormones, health and happiness in midlife and beyond. Niki explores gendered ageism, mental health, body image, food, movement and how women can future-proof their health while finding greater confidence and joy in the second half of life.

Menopause Cafe
A one-hour, fully interactive conversation available in person or online. Its relaxed, question-led format creates a safe space for people to share, learn and continue the conversation after an initial workplace session.

What makes Niki particularly effective in this space is that she is not approaching it from a single professional lane. Her career has crossed journalism, nutrition, health communication, publishing, radio, television and public speaking. She founded and edited Cuisine online and was the founding editor of Healthy Food Guide, helping take the independent title to New Zealand’s top-selling food magazine, a position it held for more than a decade.

She is also the author of two bestselling books published by Penguin Random House. This Changes Everything is an honest guide to menopause and perimenopause, while The Everything Guide brings together evidence-based advice on hormones, health and happiness in menopause, midlife and beyond. Niki’s own website offers more of her writing and speaking work, while her YouTube channel provides another way to hear her approach to health and wellbeing.

Her extensive media experience includes work across print, digital, radio and television, including the NZ Listener, RNZ, Newstalk ZB and, in 2026, an expert appearance in Robyn Malcolm’s Menopause and Us on TVNZ+. That experience also makes her a confident conference contributor, facilitator, interviewer and commentator.

Testimonials from New Zealand workplaces gives a good sense of how well her sessions land with audiences.

“All men should have gone to this! Proud to be part of the minority who did. Enjoyed this informative session – thank-you!” said Kelly Maguren, Managed Funds Operations Manager at Westpac NZ.

Steve Jurkovich, Chief Executive at Kiwibank, said: “Your insights when you spent time with Kiwibank were one of the highlights of the year. Can’t recommend getting the ball rolling on this topic enough.”

Tracey Hickman from Genesis Energy said: “Niki presented with huge knowledge in a very down to earth way. Attendance was the largest we have had, with male and female employees of all ages attending.”

Niki’s workplace clients have also included PwC, Hato Hone St John, JLL and Tompkins Wake, with feedback consistently highlighting her knowledge, approachable delivery, ability to include men in the conversation and the safe environment she creates for honest questions.

For corporate organisations and event organisers, the value is clear: Niki can take subjects that are medically complex, personally sensitive or sometimes poorly understood and turn them into conversations people can actually engage with. Audiences leave with a clearer understanding of perimenopause, menopause and healthy ageing, practical information they can use, and greater confidence to talk with health professionals, colleagues and managers.

If you are planning a conference, corporate event, leadership programme or workplace wellbeing initiative, Niki Bezzant brings an informed, practical and engaging perspective to the room.
